COMMUNITY OUTREACH
When Jesus Christ walked the earth, we are told in the Bible that he went around doing good. He was concerned about people’s spiritual and practical needs.
At Stanway Evangelical Church we seek to do likewise which is reflected in our community outreach. We too seek to help people spiritually and practically.
-
Residents in two nursing homes who are no longer able to attend church warmly welcome teams who lead services with favourite hymns and Bible-based talks.
-
A local school has invited us to present the nationwide programme Open the Book, which is led by a team of enthusiastic volunteers.
-
The cost-of-living crisis prompted us to provide free packed lunches during the school holidays, and this has proved very popular.
-
Prayer remains central to church life. Residents from churches across Stanway meet monthly to pray for the local community on the 4th Sunday of each month at 3pm in our Annexe.
