What to Expect

Thank you for taking a look at our church website.  On it you will find information about who we are as a church and as individuals plus you can check out what is coming up at SEC.

You can also listen to previous sermons via the link.

We would love to see you, why not come and visit us on Sunday or at one of our other weekly activities, a warm welcome awaits you (and a cup of tea or coffee).

What are Sundays Like at SEC?

Is there anything for my children/teenagers?

At our Morning Service, the children/teenagers start off in the main church and there is singing and a talk especially for younger children. After this there is a crèche if needed and the other children go into their various groups, Sun Seekers, C4C, where depending on the age group they have Bible Stories, craft and singing. The older young people go upstairs to F2G, where they study the Bible in a modern and relevant way. If your children don’t wish to go out to any of these groups then that is fine. We also have all age services at certain times of the year and everyone stays together in church for these.

Our Evening Services tend to be of a more traditional nature, but obviously children are still most welcome.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code. Please feel free to wear whatever you feel comfortable in.

Where do I sit?

Feel free to sit where you like, none of our seats are reserved!

What can I expect?

  • We sing songs/hymns, most people stand to sing, but do as you feel comfortable.
  • We have a band with guitars, drums, organ and piano and other instruments that lead us in our worship.
  • We are a praying church, prayer is important, but you will not be expected to pray out loud.
  • We teach from the Bible using PowerPoint and other media presentations.
  • We have speakers from our own church and also visiting speakers.
  • You will hear testimonies of how Jesus has changed and is working in peoples lives.

What about an offering, am I expected to give?

We take up an offering in the service for the regular members, but there is no obligation for you to give anything.

How long do our services last?

Morning Service: Normally up to one hour and fifteen minutes.

Evening Service: Normally up to one hour and ten minutes.

What happens after the service

Tea/Coffee and biscuits are served after every morning service, where there is a chance to have a chat and get to know us at SEC.
